Follow the Footsteps of Master Swordsman Miyamoto Musashi Throughout Kumamoto

Miyamoto Musashi was a world-famous swordsman active in the first half of the 17th century. Although Musashi's peerless mastery of the blade is common knowledge, it isn't well known that he spent his later years in Kumamoto. On this tour, we will take a bus to follow Miyamoto's path around Kumamoto to sites like Reigando Cave and Musashizuka. After the tour's final stop at the Shimada Museum of Art, where many of the swordsman's artifacts are on display, you will be taken to the stylish hidden café next to the museum to enjoy confections (and a drink) from their secret sweets menu only available to tour participants. Furthermore, you will even have the rare opportunity to experience the swordfight style founded by Musashi, Niten Ichiryu, through a special demonstration inside the Shimada Art Museum.
