A Special Tour of the World-Renowned Kyushu Shinkansen Train Depot

The Kumamoto Depot is the third comprehensive Shinkansen depot in the country, following JR West's Hakata Depot and JR East's Shinkansen Center. A comprehensive depot is a facility that combines a train depot, which conducts daily inspections (operation inspections and rotation inspections), with a factory facility that performs train truck and general inspections, akin to vehicle inspections for automobiles. Here, you can catch a glimpse of JR Kyushu's Series 800 and the Series N700 jointly developed with JR West, two examples of cutting-edge technology that are the pride of Japan.
