Kumamoto Castle Special Observation Route

At Kumamoto Castle, a designated cultural heritage site and symbol of Kumamoto City, you can hold special events while discovering its newly revealed charms. Kumamoto Castle sustained extensive damage in the Kumamoto Earthquakes. However, a 6-meter-high special observation route opened in 2020, allowing visitors to view the damage and ongoing restoration efforts.
Experience Kumamoto Castle as it can only be seen today while enjoying a special event, where you can appreciate its current state—a unique perspective shaped by ongoing restoration efforts.
