Kumamoto Food Stall Village

In the heart of the city, beneath the silhouette of Kumamoto Castle, the retro restaurant alley of Kumamoto Food Stall Village brings the tradition of food stalls from the Edo period into the present day.
For a limited time, the entire space, including its 16 different restaurants, can be rented out for the party of a lifetime. As guests traverse the village's central alley, hopping from one open-faced restaurant to the next and chatting with the owners, they're sure to learn about Kumamoto's unique cuisine and must-see destinations. Kumamoto Food Stall Village is a place where visitors can immerse themselves in the warmth of Japan's traditional downtown culture.
Plus, Kumamoto's agriculture provides fresh local vegetables, akaushi beef, poultry, and seafood for innumerable original dishes and hometown delicacies. These dishes are best enjoyed when paired with Kumamoto's local sake and shochu made with the region's delicious water.
