  • 約100年の歴史を持つ畳屋である「一畳屋」では、畳の原料「い草」について動画鑑賞と解説を聞いた後、畳職人と同じ技法を使いながら体験用にアレンジされた工程で21×25cmのティーマットサイズのミニ畳を作ることができます。

    At Ichijoya, a tatami shop with a history of about 100 years, you can watch an instructional video and hear an explanation about "igusa" (rush grass), the raw material used for tatami. Afterwards, you can make your own tea-mat-sized mini tatami (21 x 25 cm) through a process adapted for visitors, using the same techniques as professional tatami craftsmen.
